This quilt pattern allows quilters to quickly choose your fabrics, cut your strips, group strip sets and start sewing!
When I designed this quilt pattern, I had a set of 13 fabrics that looked great together. I was anxious to start a new quilt without having to think about special cutting instructions or specific yardage requirements. With equal amounts of each fabric (well, I think I had more of my focus fabric for the first one that I made), I started cutting: 5”, 4”, 3”, 2” and 1”. And, the 5-4-3-2-1 Quilt! pattern was created.
Any color scheme will be successful using this pattern. Choose bright & bold fabrics with high contrast, subtle colors with little contrast or fun novelty fabrics to create a themed quilt. Add a simple, pieced border (instructions included in the pattern) to quickly finish your new quilt top!
